Pakistan-Turkey Business Forum 2013

 

The Guest of Honor was Mian Nawaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Mian Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Ishaq Dar, Minister of Finance and Mr. Zafer Caglayan, the Turkish Minister of Economy were also guest speakers at the forum. Guests at the event included Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, The Governor of Punjab and Mr. Binali Yildirim, the Turkish Minister of Transportation.

 

The Prime Minister of Turkey was accompanied by a delegation of high-powered members of the Turkish business community. During the event, the members of the Turkish delegation were provided with the opportunity to interact with their Pakistani counterparts and discuss mutually beneficial business opportunities.

 

The forum was organized with the aim of developing and improving relations between the Pakistani and the Turkish business communities. Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif praised the Turkish economic policies and business setup that they had viewed on their visit to Turkey in October 2013 and expressed their hope to emulate them in Pakistan.  Mian Nawaz Sharif also invited Turkish businessmen to explore investment opportunities in various sectors of Pakistan including energy, textile, tourism and infrastructure development. The Turkish Prime Minister thanked the Pakistani government for encouraging Turkish Businessmen and said that Turkey will benefit from investment opportunities in Pakistan.

 

At the conclusion of the event, three memorandums of understanding were signed between the two countries for cooperation in various fields.
