Mr. Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh is presently serving as Secretary Finance, Finance Department, Government of the Punjab. He has obtained Masters Degrees in ‘Business Administration’ from IBA, Karachi and in ‘Development studies’ from School of Oriental & African studies, University of London. He held various positions in Government sector and has more than twenty four years of diversified professional experience in various public sectors with expertise in policy implementation and formulation in the arena of public financial management, project management and public service delivery. He has participated in various workshops/conferences/seminars at National & International levels. He has also authored “Performance Based Budgeting 1999-2000”.




Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan
Planning and Development Department (Chairman)

Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan is the Chairman of Planning and Development Board, Government of Punjab, responsible for overall planning, and monitoring and evaluation of development schemes in the province. He is also the Additional Chief Secretary Energy, the senior most official responsible for all energy projects being developed in Punjab.

Mr. Khan holds M.B.B.S. from the University of Peshawar and an M.B.A. (Public Service) from the University of Birmingham, U.K. with a special concentration in public private partnerships and public sector organizational reforms.

He has seven years of progressive experience as the team leader of district administration overseeing the full range of public services in a territorial jurisdiction; eight years practice of public finance and economic management, project cycle management and social development; and five years of economic diplomacy/commercial representation, business development and investment promotion. Mr. Khan has been Secretary to Government of Punjab in various departments since the last decade”.




Dr. Muhammad Mujtaba Piracha
Governance Expert Public Financial Management

Dr. Muhammad Mujtaba Piracha is a Governance expert specializing in Public Financial Management. He completed his a Doctorate at IDS, Sussex University. He has vast experience of working in leadership positions at provincial and local government levels as well as in civil society organizations. He hasunderstanding of managing large donor funded programs in financial management and institutional development as well as design and execution of NGO/donor funded programs in rural development and education. He has been working extensively with international development partners like the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, DFID, USAID, EU etc.




Tahir Javaid Malik

Malik Tahir Javaid is the Chief Executive of Teel Electronics (Pvt) Ltd. and Director of MGA Industries (Pvt) Ltd. Both the companies deal in automotive, tractor parts and electronics. They also export automotive parts all over the world.

Malik Tahir Javaid is a versatile businessman, who has also established himself as an export and trader of various Agri equipment particularly tractor parts.

Malik Tahir Javaid is graduate from the London University and has traveled all over the world. He has very strong ambitions to export Pakistani products to all over the world. He has participated in various seminars and conferences held in USA, UK and others countries.

“Mr. Arif Saeed graduated from Oxford University. He is a Director of Servis Industries Limited. He has served Dar Es Salam Textile Mills Limited as Chief Executive Officer from 1992 to 2006. He has also been the Chairman of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association and the Chairman of Lahore Stock Exchange. Mr. Saeed is currently the Chairman of Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power (Pvt.) Limited, Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power (Pvt.) Limited and National Power Parks Management Company (Pvt.) Limited.



Atif Bajwa
Pakistan Business Council (Chairman

Atif Bajwa has over 35 years of experience in banking both within and outside Pakistan. He completed his education at Columbia University, New York and began his career at Citibank Pakistan as a Corporate Banker in 1982. He handled different relationship and unit head roles in Pakistan before moving to assignments in New York and later Bahrain as a senior member of the Corporate Banking and Corporate Finance Unit for the Gulf Markets.

Mr. Bajwa joined ABN AMRO Bank in 1993 and was appointed Country Manager Pakistan in 1995. In 1998, he moved to Singapore as Consumer Banking Head for Asia Pacific covering operations in nine countries and spearheaded the acquisition of new consumer banking operations in four Asian markets. Mr. Bajwa moved to ABN AMRO's Head office in Amsterdam as an Executive Vice President and till 2001 was responsible for Global Business Development.

In May 2001, he returned to Citibank as the Regional Head for Central and Eastern Europe. In early 2005, Mr. Bajwa joined Mashreq Bank, UAE to manage the Retail Banking group. He returned to Pakistan in June 2007 to join MCB Bank as President & CEO, a position he held till June 2010. He joined Soneri Bank for a short period as President & CEO and joined the Abu Dhabi Group in 2011.

He has been the President & CEO of Bank Alfalah since October 2011. He is the Chairman of Pakistan Business Council and also serves on the boards of a few corporate entities.



Feisal Hussain Naqvi
HaidermotaBNR& Co (Senior Partner)

Mr. Naqvi is a senior partner at the law firm of HaidermotaBNR& Co where he focuses on constitutional and commercial litigation. He has been ranked by Chambers and Partners as one of the top lawyers in Pakistan since 2008. He has a special focus on legal and regulatory reform and has worked on assignments with the ADB, the World Bank, UNDP, FAO and several other development agencies. He is also a commentator on public issues and has regularly published columns in many national and international publications including the Guardian, the Washington Post, Newsweek Pakistan, Dawn and the Express Tribune. He is currently a regular columnist for The News. He is also a member of the federal Board of Investment.

Feisal Naqvi is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Bar of the Lahore High Court, the Bar of the State of New York and the Bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  He completed his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1994 where he was also an editor of the Yale Law Journal. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with an B.A. in International Affairs and Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University in 1990.



Khawaja Ahmed Hassan
Pasha Fabrics (Director)

Khawaja Ahmad Hassan is in textile business for the last 20 years he is on the board of directors of Shajar Pak (Pvt) Limited: Manufacturer of Pasha Fabrics. He embarked on his political career in 1988 when he joined the Muslim League. He has now established a prominent name both in political circles and among the people.

In the 1997 general elections he played a valuable role as campaign in charge and later as political secretary to the Chief Minister Punjab MianShahbaz Sharif. He proved his competence during his tenure as Lord Mayor of Lahore, in 1998/99. He renovated the outlook of the city: pulled up the administration and took revolutionary measure to improve the cleanliness.

He received a Certificate of Appreciation from the World Bank. The Japan international Cooperation Agency (JICS) declared Data GunjBuksh Town as an ideal model in Lahore during his tenure. He was declared the most dynamic mayor of the region.



Kimihide Ando
Mitsubishi Corporation (Senior Vice President)

Kimihide Ando is Senior Vice President (Chief Executive for Pakistan), Mitsubishi Corporation. He is holding the position since April 2010. This is his second assignment to Pakistan, the 1st of which was during 1998 – 2003. He has a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from the International Christian University, Tokyo and joined Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan in 1982. He has spent most of his career in the Chemical Group. During his tenure, other than Pakistan he was assigned to Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Indonesia, and has diverse experience in Marketing, Chemicals, HRD and Manufacturing. He is also Director of Tri-Pack Films Limited and Engro Polymer & Chemicals Ltd. Moreover, he is Vice Chairman of PJBF (Pakistan Japan Business Forum). He is President 2011 & 2016 of The Japanese Association of Commerce & Industry. and is also a President 2013 of OICCI (Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry). On social activity side, he is member of trustee of Liaquat National Hospital.


Marek Minkiewicz

He is the Managing Director at METRO Cash & Carry Pakistan (Pvt) Limited. He has more than twenty five years of managerial and retail experience in a wide range of different cultures, both as part of start-up's as well as in well-established organizations.

He created commercial and marketing visions for different geographies, distribution channels, brands and product lines, adjusted strategies to economic changes, Restructured, built and led cross-cultural diverse teams; coached individuals with a customer and results driven, pragmatic attitude

He has a successful record in demanding, unfavorable business conditions; utilized his commercial acumen and perseverance to achieve results in Pakistan, Japan and Poland while developing strong relationships, communicating and negotiating with shareholders, government, developers to expand retail distribution channels and exploit market potentials.


Pir Saad Ahsanuddin

Mr. Ahsanuddin started his professional career as an analyst with Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), New York, where he advised and closed several billion dollars of M&A transactions and privatizations. While at CSFB he moved to Pakistan as CSFB’s Country Representative in Pakistan and supporting regional transactions and helped strengthen the firms franchise generating over USD 13m of advisory fees from Pakistan alone during his year in Pakistan.

In 1999 he joined Emerging Markets Partnership (EMP) a Washington DC based global private equity firm with approximately USD 6.5 billion of assets under management. He is considered a pioneer of private equity in the Middle East and was part of a three member founding team, and member of the Board of Directors that raised a USD 730 million private equity fund focusing on regional investments under the EMP umbrella based in Bahrain, and structured the first investments for the fund. The fund generated over a 50% IRR for its investors.

Mr. Ahsanuddin has co-founded several successful companies in Pakistan including the first branded entertainment multiplex chain (Cinepax), a national entertainment content company (Footprint) representing blue chip international brands, a national countrywide security technology company (Star Technologies), an international consumer electronic company (Jawbone) as well as a successful real estate development company.

He has been a member of the Privatization Commission of Pakistan from 2003-2008. During this time the Privatization Commission concluded 35 transactions worth USD 6.3 billion in a transparent manner in the banking, energy, manufacturing, telecom and industrial sectors for the Government of Pakistan. He is one of the few professionals who understand complex privatization/project finance transactions having worked on all aspects of a transaction from buy side, sell side and as a principal. He has twice served as a Director of the Lahore Stock Exchange and the Board of the National Commodities Exchange of Pakistan.

Mr. Ahsanuddin was part of the core team that opened New Silk Route’s (NSR) regional office in Dubai, focusing on private equity opportunities across the Middle East and Asia out of the Dubai office. NSR is a New York headquartered USD 1.4bn private equity fund. While at NSR he sourced key investments in Malaysia, Pakistan, Turkey, Middle East, Bangladesh and helped deploy over USD 120m of the firm’s capital.

Mr. Ahsanuddin currently serves on the BOD of leading national companies, with executive positions in his family owned enterprises; covering business verticals of entertainment, food, infrastructure, real estate development, engineering, agriculture, construction, and now railroad transportation/logistics, and is a partner at Digital Frontier Capital.

Mr. Ahsanuddin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brown University with a dual degree in B.Sc. (Honors) Engineering and a B.A. (Honors) Business Economics. He also has a MBA from Harvard University.

Mr. Ahsanuddin has served in an honorary capacity on various boards as a leader of the private sector business community including the Privatization Commission, Vice Chairman/CEO of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT), Pakistan Board of Investment (PBOI), World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Board (PLDDB), Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE), etc.


Seema Aziz
CARE Foundation (Founder and Chairperson)

Seema Aziz is an entrepreneur and social activist who has been working for the cause of education in Pakistan since 1988. She is the Founder and Chairperson of CARE Foundation, the largest non-governmental organization in Pakistan, educating more than 238,000 students through 866 schools. CARE has pioneered a unique public-private partnership model which enables it to reach the maximum number of children and provide them with “quality, marketable education”.

In 1985, she started a business, to prove that Pakistan could produce embroidered fabric equal in quality and design to the best in the world. Today, 30 years on, Bareeze is a symbol of pride for Pakistan and the most recognizable Pakistani brand both within the country and abroad. The Bareeze group, which now has 12 brands, sells through over 610 points of sale worldwide and is Pakistan’s largest fashion retailer.

Seema has studied from University of Punjab and Harvard Business School. Being actively involved in improving the educational opportunities for the children of Pakistan, she is on the Board of multiple Government and Private Bodies working in the sector as well as on Global Advisory Board of Harvard Business School.


Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy
Documentary Filmmaker

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is a two time Academy Award and Emmy Award winning documentary filmmaker. In the past 16 years, she has made a dozen multi-award winning films in over 10 countries around the world. Her films include Girl in the river, Song of Lahore, Saving Face, Peace Keepers, Transgenders: Pakistan’s Open Secret and Pakistan’s Taliban Generation. Her work has aired on channels spanning 4 continents including, HBO, CNN, PBS, Channel 4, CBC, Arte, SBS and the Discovery channel.

In 2012, Time Magazine included Sharmeen in their annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. That same year the Pakistan Government awarded her with highest civil honor “Hilal -e–Imtiaz ”. In 2013, the Canadian government awarded her a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her work in the field of documentary films and the World Economic Forum honored her with a Crystal Award at their annual summit in Davos.

In 2017, Sharmeen was the first artist ever to co-chair the “World Economic Forum” at Davos.

Born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, Sharmeen received a bachelor’s degree from Smith College and two masters’ degrees from Stanford University.


Syed Yawar Ali
Member Tax Advisory Council, Federal Board of Revenue

Syed Yawar Ali was educated at Aitchison College Lahore and got his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and Masters in Management Science from Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey (USA). He also completed the Advance Management Program from Harvard Business School in 1992. He joined his family business i.e. Packages Limited in 1972 and then became Managing Director of Milk Pak Ltd. In 1988 Milk Pak joined hands with Nestle for a very successful Joint Venture.

Syed Yawar Ali is currently Chairman of Nestlé Pakistan Limited, Wazir Ali Industries Limited, Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan and Director of Pakistan International Airlines. He has also been on the Board of Directors of State Bank of Pakistan and Chairman of Lahore Electric Supply Company, and Pakistan Dairy Association.

He is also Co-Chair of the Pakistan India Joint Business Forum (PIJBF) a committee to “Promote Trade with India”, and Director, Punjab Power Development Board, Member of United Nations Committee on Contributions, Chairman, Steering Committee of Dairy & Rural Development Foundation. He is the Member of Pakistan Trade and Investment Policy Program and also a member of the Tax Advisory Council, Federal Board of Revenue.


Yawar Badat
Mr. Yawar Badat has over 35 years of experience in the Shipping and Logistics Industry. He is a Director and shareholder of Transfreight Corporation (PVT) LTD and ECU Worldwide Pakistan PVT LTD.

He is presently on the Board of Trustees of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) , Board of Directors of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) and a Board of Director of Pakistan Morocco Business Council of the Federation of Pakistan, Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) . He was also on the Board of Governors, Aitchison College, Lahore from 2013-2016.

He has been the member of Government delegation to Beijing, China representing the logistic industry of Pakistan (2016), delegation to UK, UK-PAKISTAN energy and infrastructure forum (2015), Government delegation to US trade representative (2006), He was the Chairman of Pakistan International Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA) committee Afghan trade and transportation (2005). Executive committee Pakistan’s national logistics association, PIFFA (2004), Government delegation represented Pakistan at the United Nations for commission on sustainable development (1999), Government delegation to Oman on Environment and transport (1998) and Chief Ministers task force Punjab Mango and citrus Board (1997).


Ziad Bashir

Mr. Ziad Bashir has been on the Gulahmed Textiles mills ltd Board since February 1999. A graduate from Babson College, USA, with a bachelor degree in Entrepreneurial Studies, he has a comprehensive experience of the textile sector and is involved in various developmental and operational activities of the company.

He is also associated with the Information Technology (IT) industry and has played a key role in the transformation of the Company’s IT infrastructure. He is a certified director from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG).

Over the years, he has served as Chairman of Landhi Association of Trade and Industry and on the Board of Central Managing Committee of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA). He has also served as a President of Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Pakistan and Executive Committee of the Pakistan Board of Investment. He is currently serving the Punjab Board of Investment.

Mr. Jahanzeb Burana

Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School Boston. He was an advisor to Harvard Innovation Lab (2014 – Present) and he is currently the member of the “Forum for Growth & Innovation” that consists of a select group of academics and practitioners. Jahanzeb Burana completed his BSc from LUMS with honors in economics. He was awarded Gold Medal (National Management Foundation) by the President of Pakistan for achieving the highest GPA in Class of 2006.

He has vast experience in investment banking and financial heaping. He served in Bosna Bank International Sarajevo, Bosnia and presently a board member as well. He had been working with Islamic Development Bank group Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as a Senior Investment Specialist (Private Equity) before joining Punjab Board of Investment & Trade.

Jahanzeb Burana is also Co-founder and Managing Partner of JOMSTART Ventures, Malaysia which was the first-of-its-kind platform in Malaysia meant to bring together entrepreneurs, investors and mentors for incubating and funding (seed / series A) businesses in Malaysia.

He also worked as an Investment Associate at Portelet Holdings Singapore which is a clean tech and SME (Clean Energy, Technology, Healthcare, Services, Agribusiness) focused investment/fund management firm with offices in Singapore, Bombay and Zurich.

He also worked as Summer Associate at REDF (formerly Roberts’ Enterprise Development Fund) San Francisco.
