JOINT COOPRATION COMMITTEE MEETING IN CHINA

Beijing: During a meeting of Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC), Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif urged the relevant stakeholders to implement mutually agreed projects of the Economic Corridor. Economic cooperation between Pakistan and China has expanded significantly in recent years especially after PM Nawaz Sharif’s recent visit to China. Under a comprehensive framework Pakistan and China have bilateral economic cooperation in the form of Joint Economic Commission, Economic Cooperation Group, Joint Energy Working Group and a Joint Investment Committee, besides several other mechanisms. The volume of trade volume has almost crossed $ 12 billion, with Pakistan’s exports increasing by 48 per cent. 

Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning & Development, who will lead the Economic Corridor project from Pakistan side, also attended the meeting.
