Meeting with Chinese Delegation from Xinjiang Provincial Dept. of Commerce

 

An introductory presentation of PBIT was arranged for the delegation. There was also a discussion between the members of the delegation and the PBIT team regarding various investment opportunities in Punjab.

 

As the delegation was particularly interested in cooperation and investment opportunities with the Punjab textile sector, a meeting was arranged for them at the office of the All Pakistan Textile Manufacturers Association (APTMA). A representative from PBIT accompanied them to the APTMA office where the Chairman of APTMA Mr. S.M. Tanvir, Mr. Nadeem Saigol, COO Matrix Sourcing and senior office bearers gave them an overview of the textile industry of Pakistan. 

Finally, the PBIT representative took the delegation to visit two spinning mills in Lahore.

 

The Chinese delegates showed interest in extending mutual trade and cooperation through the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor and asked for guidance regarding exporting Pakistani textile to China through the silk route.

 

The Chinese delegation comprised the following members: Mr. Bai Yufeng, Director, Xinjiang department of commerce, Mr. Ying Xudong, Director, Xinjiang department of commerce, Mr.  Li Shumin, Executive Deputy General Manger, State Grid of Xinjiang and Mr. Wang Zhi, Interpreter.
