Punjab Board of Investment and Trade held a meeting with a group of young promising entrepreneurs at its office in Lahore today to announce the soft launch of a specialized entrepreneurship desk.
The specialized entrepreneurship desk aims to work closely with young entrepreneurs to facilitate and help them on various fronts, as they launch their businesses.
The participating companies included Sabzi.pk which is an online market place for farmers and consumers. It aims to provide people with quality vegetables at their doorstep. Secondly, Dielicious which is a weight loss service programme, providing customized meals to the target market. Thirdly, Pak Straw is a innovation based company which aims to provide a device which can filter 1500 liters of contaminated water with minimal cost and the last company named Repair Desk, which is an IT based company that has launched integrated POS & ERP software for record keeping that would be the foremost software to be used in Pakistan.
The meeting focused on the product and services provided by these startup companies as well as the issues that are being faced by the entrepreneurs while setting up their businesses. Key issues that were discussed included but not limited to legal concerns, policy advocacy and incentives to start ups issues at the Govt. level. CEO PBIT Jahanzeb Burana promised to raise their issues on the right forums. PBIT being a Premiere Investment Promotion Agency of Punjab will facilitate the young startups in overcoming the issues in all possible ways.
