H.E. Yao Jing (Ambassador of Peoples Republic of China), H.E. Long Dingbin (Counsellor general of China) call on the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and discussed bilateral business relations and potential between the brotherly countries. The ambassador thanked Chief Minister Punjab for extending corporation towards business and for provisioning of conducive environment for the Chinese companies already engaged in doing business in Punjab and Pakistan, especially for the two name Delli- Glass and Futon which have recently commenced their business. Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar assured the ambassador that his government is fully committed as per the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan to create investment friendly environment inline with CPEC arrangement. He assured that his government will extend all possible facilities and cooperation to the Chinese businessmen and investors, who can come and invest in any sector. The Chief Minister reiterated that the doors of his institutions and teams are open for Chinese businessmen on 24/7 hour basis. During the meet Sardar Tanveer Illyas Khan Chairman PBIT stressed the need of improving exports to china to reduce the prevailing trade deficit of 14.4 billion, he briefed the attendees about existing potential that lies within Dairy and Livestock, textile and garments sectors and invited businessmen from China to invest in Punjab which would be beneficial for both the nations. Chairman PBIT also briefed the Ambassador with the potential in trade of meat which at present is being exported through Vietnam. Sardar Tanveer Illyas assured the Ambassador that he himself along with PBIT team would ensure that businessmen from China are facilitated to their utmost expectations and be given hassle free conducive environment and facilitation in all facets. The Ambassador showed keen interest in shared business avenues and informed with the intent of Chinese businessmen in tapping the potential of Punjab. The Chinese Ambassador was also requested to reduce Chinese visa processing time and also to open a visa facilitation and processing window at Lahore to facilitate people of Punjab. The Ambassador agreed and assured opening of an office at Lahore through Jerrys and reduction of Visa processing time in the shortest possible time. Further, he informed of the socio-economic growth in Baluchistan and Southern Punjab and few other districts of Punjab in particular. Chairman P&D Habeeb-ur-Rehman Gillani, Additional Chief Secretary Home Ali Murtaza, Principal Secretary Dr. Shoaib and Secretary Industries Tahir Khursheed were also present on the occasion.
